Here’s how my process works:
1. Understand your system
Build a complete picture of how all of the machinery, control systems, processes, and people interact together.
2. Prioritize safety
Analyze the system to make sure that no parts of the process are causing unnecessary safety hazards.
3. Find the pain points
Identify anything that causes downtime, or requires a lot of human interaction.
4. Pick the low-hanging fruit
Find all low-effort, high-yield processes that can be improved.
5. Large scale projects
List the big improvements that can be made, but will require a longer timeline of planning and execution.
6. The game plan
Draft a plan (with budget and schedule in mind) that details what improvements are to be made based on priority, impact, and safety needs.
